Coenobita Health : Tetracycline (Melafix?)

During our first month of crabbing due to the lack of knowledge regarding proper hermit crab care our crabitat, as well as possibly the hermit crabs, had a bacteria infection. We were instructed to give the hermit crabs a tetracycline bath daily for a week, as well as deep clean the crabitat.

Since January this year I have been spending a lot of time researching the incidence of black, brown, rust coloured stains and small holes in exoskeletons. Some were negligible and just part of the colouration of the hermit crabs, while others became fatal pre and post-moult.
